What is Crazy Time By Evolution?

We’ve seen Evolution Gaming continually push the boundaries of live dealer game shows, from Dream Catcher to Monopoly Live, but one of their most ambitious and, ultimately, successful releases to date is Crazy Time.

This action-packed game takes the classic money-wheel concept and cranks it up to a whole new level. Boasting no less than four exciting bonus games, more than most video slots, we’ve got everything from coin-flips to wheel-of-fortune-styled prize wheels on offer!

The game also has a whopping maximum win potential of 20,000x, making it one of the most lucrative live dealer games on the market. In this Crazy Time game review, we’re going to take a close look at everything you need to know about the game, from gameplay mechanics and bonus features to payouts, RTP, and the best Crazy Time strategies!

Gameplay & Features

Wheel, Interface, and User Experience

Like all Evolution games, Crazy Time is set in a professional studio, although this happens to be one of the most colourful we’ve seen. A friendly, energetic host guides you through each part of the game, which is played initially on a giant vertical wheel. The wheel itself has 54 segments marked with numbers 1, 2, 5, and 10, and bonus segments: Coin Flip, Cash Hunt, Pachinko, and Crazy Time. You will also see a Top Slot machine above the wheel.

Each round, this Top Slot randomly selects one bet spot (either a number or a feature segment) and a multiplier. The slot then spins, and if the multiplier and segment line up, that outcome gets the multiplier for the upcoming spin.

Between rounds, you get around 15 seconds of betting time, after which the host spins the wheel, alternating spin direction each round. Like similar Evolution Live titles, we’re talking Monopoly Big Baller and Funky Time, the streaming quality is superb, and you’ll find HD video, multiple camera angles, and crisp audio.

How to Play Crazy Time

Crazy Time is very simple to play, especially if you’ve tried any “big money wheel” games before. Here’s a quick breakdown of what you can expect whilst playing:

1. Place Your Bets:

Once a new round begins, you’ll have about 15 seconds to place your bets on the main wheel outcome. You can bet on any number – 1, 2, 5, and 10, and/or any of the found bonus games: Coin Flip, Cash Hunt, Pachinko, and Crazy Time. You can bet on as many or as few segments as you like. (You’ll even find useful buttons to “Bet on all numbers” or “Bet on all bonuses”).

2. Top Slot Multiplier:

Once the betting round closes, the game’s Top Slot spins above the wheel. This selects one random outcome, like 10 or Cash Hunt, and a random multiplier, up to 50x. If the two symbols align, it activates that multiplier for the corresponding bet spot in the current round. If it doesn’t align, there is simply no extra multiplier present for the round.

3. Wheel Spin:

The game’s host will then spin the big wheel, and if it stops on a number, anyone who’s placed a bet on that number will win the standard payout, plus any multipliers if they’re active. The round then ends, and a new game begins. If the wheel stops on a bonus segment, the corresponding game is activated, and we’ll walk you through how these work shortly.

So, in essence, Crazy Time plays out much like a mega-sized Wheel of Fortune: place bets, possibly get a random multiplier from the Top Slot, then watch the wheel spin and hope it lands on one of your chosen segments. Of course, the addition of the four bonus games makes it far more entertaining than most big money wheel games, and that’s the main reason why it’s become one of Evolution’s most popular releases.

Crazy Time Bonus Rounds Explained

One of Crazy Time’s biggest draws is its four bonus games, each triggered by landing on the corresponding segment of the wheel. These features are what give Crazy Time its enormous win potential and interactive fun. Here’s an in-depth look at each bonus feature:

Coin Flip

Coin Flip is the most common bonus round, triggered by stopping on one of the four blue Coin Flip segments on the wheel (there are more of these segments than any other bonus). This is a pretty quick bonus game that, as the name suggests, revolves primarily around a simple coin toss. Once triggered, you’ll be taken to a special game screen where you’ll see a two-faced coin with a blue and a red side.

Before the flip, the game assigns a random multiplier to each side of the coin. For example, it might be 7x on red and 15x on blue. The presenter then uses a machine (the “Flip-o-Matic”) to flip the coin. Whichever side lands face-up determines which of the two different multipliers you win! What’s good about this round is that you’re guaranteed to win something.

Of course, one side’s multiplier is usually much higher than the other, so it’s a 50/50 chance of which one you’re awarded. Now, if you trigger the round with a Top Slot multiplier, it’s possible for the flip to be worth up to a whopping 5,000x! Plus, in the rare cases where two very low values (like 2x versus 3x) are drawn, the game can also trigger a “Rescue Flip”, which is essentially a second shot and ensures that one of the coins holds a higher multiplier.

Cash Hunt

Cash Hunt has the potential to bring you huge levels of excitement and appears on two segments of the money wheel. When triggered, you’ll be taken to a giant shooting gallery, and the screen displays 108 random multipliers in rows, which are then virtually shuffled and hidden behind 108 fun-themed symbols, like stars, cacti, ducks, and cupcakes.

The defaults can range from low values like 5x and 10x to higher ones like 50x, 100x, and 200x. These values are then multiplied by any Top Slot multiplier, if applicable.

At the start of Cash Hunt, all the symbols covering the multipliers are shuffled around, so no one knows where the big values are. Each player who bets on Cash Hunt gets to choose one target on the board to “shoot”, and this is done by aiming your cursor. Once a few seconds have passed, a cannon “blasts” the spot where your mouse was and reveals the multiplier that was behind that symbol.

You then win whatever value multiple was behind your chosen symbol, and once yours has been revealed, you’ll then get to see all of the other prizes that were on the screen. Fun fact: the biggest win in Crazy Time’s current history was hit on Cash Hunt when punters won a whopping 12,500x in early 2022!

Pachinko

Pachinko is another exciting bonus (also on two-wheel segments) inspired by the Japanese arcade game of the same name. In the Pachinko round, the studio wall turns into a giant Pachinko pegboard. You’ll then see a field of pegs with drop zones at the top and 16 unique prize pockets at the bottom. At the start of the round, each of the bottom slots is assigned a random prize, which is a multiple between 2x and 200x.

There can also be one or two DOUBLE positions added. The host then climbs up and drops a puck from a randomly chosen drop zone at the top of the board. The puck bounces its way down through the pegs until it stops in one of the multiplier slots at the bottom. If the puck lands on a multiplier value, that’s the payout you win (provided you placed a bet on the “Pachinko” segment). However, if the puck hits a DOUBLE, all of the values on the board are doubled, and the host then drops the puck down again. (This process can repeat itself multiple times if you’re lucky.)

The game continues until the puck finally lands in a slot with a multiplier. If a Top Slot multiplier was present, this is also then applied to the Pachinko multiplier before being awarded to you. Plus, like in Coin Flip, if the game’s final multiplier is low (between 2x and 4x), a “Rescue Drop” is awarded, although here, you only get one extra drop.

Crazy Time

This is the game’s signature feature and, due to just one segment on the money wheel, also the rarest. When Crazy Time is triggered, the host opens a big red door in the studio, and you’ll be taken into… Well, a psychedelic-like room is the only way we can describe it! Here, you’ll see a virtual theme park, of sorts, with a gigantic virtual wheel! This wheel contains 64 segments packed with big multipliers, DOUBLE, and TRIPLE segments.

Before the spin, players who qualify for the bonus get to choose one of three flappers, coloured blue, green, or yellow, which are fixed on the top of the wheel. The wheel is then spun, and effectively, it’s like each player gets their own result depending on which flapper they chose. Whichever segment your chosen flapper lands on when the wheel stops will be your multiplier win.

Now, if your flapper stops on a DOUBLE or TRIPLE segment, all the values on the money wheel are doubled or tripled (whichever applies), and the wheel is spun again, but only for those whose flapper landed on a DOUBLE or TRIPLE segment. If another double/triple is hit, the process repeats, and this means the multipliers can get huge.

Of course, if you manage to trigger the feature with a Top Slot multiplier, well, you can start to see quite quickly how the game’s maximum win potential of 20,000x can be hit!

Payouts, Probabilities, and RTP

Crazy Time’s base game has straightforward payouts for the number segments, although things get a bit trickier when it comes to the bonuses. The number bets pay “odds-on”, and this keeps things nice and simple, as they all pay out in accordance with their number!

So, for example, the number segment one pays 1:1, while five pays 5:1. Of course, if a Top Slot multiplier were applied to a number, that payout would be multiplied accordingly, so if five were to hit with a 10x Top Slot multiplier, the payout would be 50:1.

Below is a quick summary of the wheel segments, their payouts, and the probability of landing on the positions.

Wheel SegmentPayoutProbability
11:138.89%
22:124.07%
55:112.96%
1010:17.41%
Coin FlipVariable7.41%
Cash HuntVariable3.70%
PachinkoVariable3.70%
Crazy TimeVariable1.85%

As you can see, the number one hits the most often, by far, and you’ll see this land roughly 40% of the time! Fittingly, Crazy Time hits the least often, in just 1.85% of spins.

Now, given the variable nature of the payouts, it’s quite difficult to accurately predict the game’s overall RTP. If you bet on the number one, the RTP is 96.08%, which is pretty good. The lowest RTP bet in the game is Crazy Time, which boasts an RTP of 94.41%.

live Stream Quality

As you’d expect from Evolution, Crazy Time is well made, and it boasts excellent streaming quality and overall production. The game is broadcast live from a state-of-the-art studio with bright lighting, and the video stream is delivered to your device in crisp HD.

The camera work is also really engaging. For example, when bonus games begin, you’ll see the camera zoom in, in a creative way, or switch angles to show a different side of the presenter as he/she runs into the next room. It’s also really impressive how well the augmented reality parts of the game blend in.

How the Crazy Time Predictor, Statistics & Results Tracker Works

The Crazy Time predictor on CasinoTrackpot uses recent live results, bonus gaps and spin history to show which bonus round is currently most overdue. It is designed as a statistical tracker, not as software that can know the next result before the wheel stops.

Playing Crazy Time is, like all regulated live dealer titles, completely random, but it’s also very unpredictable. As a result, many players find themselves looking at the game’s history on websites like ours, trying to figure out patterns, a specific win frequency, or when the next bonus round might land! When you’re playing, for example, it’s not uncommon to hear things like “The Crazy Time bonus hasn’t shown up in 50 spins; it’s due soon!” or “Coin Flip landed three times in the last ten spins; it’s hot!”

With Evolution providing recent results directly on the game’s main interface and the influx of third-party sites offering Crazy Time stat trackers, including us, you might be wondering: do these statistics help you to win?

The short answer is no, not in a mathematical sense. However, these tracking tools do have a couple of uses, which we’ll explore shortly. Firstly:

Why Do Players Check Previous Spin Results?

Well, this depends on the player, and sometimes, there can be multiple reasons gamblers are interested. Some players access and use past results and statistics as a loose guide to control their bets. They might increase bets on a bonus round that hasn’t landed in a while, often taking a gamble that it’s “overdue”, or reduce their bet sizes on ones that have landed a lot recently.

It’s also interesting to see how long it’s been since a bonus landed. Of course, it doesn’t mean it’s any less or more likely to land on future spins, but it can still be nice to know, especially as you’re putting up your own cash on the game!

Are There Any Benefits to Using Stats Trackers & Results Data?

Well, this depends on what you’re using them for. If it’s purely for informative purposes, a real time results statistics tracker can give you a close look at the ‘overall picture’ for historical gameplay. For example, as we just mentioned, you can monitor how long it’s been since bonus games last occurred, how often big multipliers have appeared on the Top Slot, and how long it’s been since a big-paying bonus round has landed.

This can be interesting to know, but it doesn’t improve your chances or give you an edge in the mathematical sense. However, if you’re the type of player who wants to try and grasp how a game might play or what you can expect on average from bonus rounds, then it can be helpful.

Just remember that the game’s probabilities remain the same on every spin. For example, the fact that one of the exciting bonus games hasn’t landed in ages doesn’t boost its odds on the next spin; there’s still a 1.85% chance of it landing on every game round.

What Do Crazy Time Trackers Tell You?

Using our Crazy Time stats tracker can tell you some useful information, including:

Crazy Time Predictor: What Does “Most Overdue Bonus” Mean?

Our Crazy Time predictor looks at the latest tracked rounds and compares each bonus round’s current gap against its expected landing probability. Instead of simply showing the bonus that has gone the longest without landing, it uses the maths behind each bonus frequency to decide which result is most overdue right now.

For example, Coin Flip is expected to appear more often than Cash Hunt, Pachinko or Crazy Time, so the predictor does not judge every bonus by the same number of missed spins. When a bonus is running further behind its expected hit rate than usual, the tracker can flag it with a live status such as “Heating Up”.

Why Does Evolution Gaming Have Two Versions of Crazy Time?

The original Crazy Time is the first version of the game and is broadcast from Riga, Latvia. In 2023, the second version, known as Crazy Time A, was added because the original game couldn’t cope with the sheer numbers, making it unavailable to play for a large group of gamblers. The inclusion of a 2nd version also gives insurance to Evolution if there were ever any mechanical or technical issues that prevented their Latvian headquarters from operating the game.

Pros & Cons Of playing Crazy Time

Pros

Cons

Conclusion & Verdict

Crazy Time is, without a doubt, a groundbreaking release in the world of live dealer games. While Dream Catcher and Monopoly LIVE pioneered the early days of gameshow-based live dealer games, this is the game that changed everything, similar to how Big Time Gaming’s Megaways mechanic changed the face of online slots forever.

Crazy Time is fun, chaotic, and volatile and offers a maximum win potential of 20,000x, which is simply unmatched by any previous live casino game release. It feels more like you’re participating in a TV game show than gambling, and with a bonus round landing, on average, once in every six spins, you shouldn’t usually have to wait long to see the action for yourself.

However, its appeal will vary depending on the type of gambler you are. If you’re a casual player or looking for fast-paced fun, then it’s perfect, in our opinion. You don’t need any skill to play, and the interactive nature of some of the bonuses and features makes it highly engaging, too.

Serious players, on the other hand, might find the lower RTPs (especially on the bonus bets) and high volatility off-putting, but it’s still a solid release and probably Evolution’s best in a lot of gamblers’ eyes.

faq

1. Are there any legal restrictions that will stop me from playing from my current location?

This will depend entirely upon the gambling laws in your jurisdiction. If it is legal to gamble at online casinos in your country, then you’ll have no problems finding somewhere to play. If, however, there is governmental controversy surrounding gambling, you may find that the game, or even casinos, has been specifically restricted.

2. Will your results tracker tell me the frequency of winning wheel segments?

Yes, you can track results from the last 1, 6, 12, 24, 48, and 72 hours with our statistics page.

3. There are issues with the live feed. Why can’t I watch it?

On occasion, there may be slight interruptions to the live feed, but don’t worry, this rarely happens and is just a slight issue with the buffering, so a tiny problem on our end, not yours.

4. Are there any other live game shows similar to Crazy Time?

Yes, if you’d like to try out some similar titles, Evolution’s Game Night Live is a good choice, along with Pragmatic Play’s Money Time.

5. Can your Crazy Time predictor tell me the next result?

No. The Crazy Time predictor does not know the next result before it happens. It uses live tracked results to show the most overdue bonus, recent hit rates, bonus gaps and spin history. This can help you follow the game, but it cannot guarantee a future outcome.

6. Is the Crazy Time predictor a signal bot?

No. CasinoTrackpot is not a Crazy Time signal bot or hack tool. The predictor is a live statistics tracker that highlights overdue bonuses using recent API data. Every Crazy Time spin is still random, so the data should be used for information only.
