CasinoTrackpot x Greentube: Piggy Prizes™ Wish of Riches 2™ Q&A
We are delighted today here at CasinoTrackpot to be joined by spokesperson Richard Ganster, Director of Games Strategy and Games Portfolio Management at Greentube

1. Piggy Prizes™ has become one of Greentube’s most recognisable game families for Greentube. When approaching Piggy Prizes™ Wish of Riches 2™, what were the core elements you knew had to remain at the heart of the experience?
The non-negotiables are the things players instantly recognise: the Genie on the centre reel acting as the wild that unlocks locked coins and fixed pots and the piggy banks that fill up and pop to trigger Free Games. Those two mechanics are the soul of the series. Whatever else we add, a player needs to sit down, see the Genie and the pigs, and immediately know they’re playing a Piggy Prizes game. We protect that core experience first and design everything else around it.
2. How does the creative process differ for Greentube when it comes to developing a Piggy Prizes™ game as opposed to a brand-new standalone title?
With a brand-new title, you’re starting from a blank page; you can choose any theme, any math model, and any mechanic, and the challenge is making it land and getting players to learn it. With a Piggy Prizes game, the starting point is the opposite: a large part of the experience is already defined and already loved, so the discipline is restraint. The question becomes, ‘What can we add that raises the ceiling without breaking the loop players already understand?’ It’s a more surgical kind of design, refining and extending rather than inventing from scratch, and in some ways that’s harder because you have less freedom to get it wrong.
3. Locked coin and fixed pot symbols create a lot of anticipation on the reels. Would you say modern games need something like this so that players can see potential prizes waiting to be unlocked?
Absolutely. Visible, locked prizes sitting on the reels are one of the most effective tools in modern slot design because they make the potential reward tangible. Instead of an abstract idea that you might win something, the player can literally see the coins and pots waiting to be unlocked, and they know exactly what has to happen: the Genie needs to land on the centre reel for them to be released. That visible ‘so close’ tension is a huge driver of engagement, and it’s a big reason the series resonates.

4. Magic Spin and Magic Rewind both return as key features. What do these mechanics add to the game beyond the standard base game spin?
They add personality and anticipation on top of the standard spin. Magic Spin stops the centre reel first with the Genie or Super Genie in view, so before the rest of the reels even settle, the player already knows something good is coming. Magic Rewind takes a spin that looked like a miss and rewinds non-winning symbols into winning or jackpot positions, turning a dead spin into a win you watch happen. Both mechanics exist to make the base game feel alive rather than just spin-and-wait, and they create those little theatrical moments that players remember and talk about.
5. Super Free Games introduce a sticky Super Genie, while standard Free Games feature a sticky Genie. How different do these two bonus experiences feel in practice?
They feel meaningfully different, which is the point. Standard Free Games give you the sticky Genie on the centre reel, unlocking coins and jackpots as they land; that’s the experience players know from the original. Super Free Games swap in the sticky Super Genie, who doesn’t just unlock prizes but actively adds coins, boosts coins to higher values when they stack, and generally pushes the win potential up a level. So while they share a structure, Super Free Games feel like the elevated version, the bonus you’re really hoping to trigger. Having two tiers gives players a clear sense of good and even better.
6. Xtreme Bet is one of the standout additions, offering an alternative base game played at 5x the standard total bet and focused only on the key feature symbols. What was the thinking behind giving players this separate mode?
Xtreme Bet is there for players who want to get to the action faster and are willing to stake more to do it. At 5x the standard total bet, the reels strip back to only the symbols that matter for the key features, coins, jackpots, the Genie and Super Genie, and it runs its own coin pile and set of pigs. The result is a significantly higher chance of triggering Free Games and Super Free Games, and bonuses triggered from Xtreme Bet return more on average. Not every player wants that risk profile, so rather than force one experience on everyone, we give them the choice: play the standard game, or step up to Xtreme Bet when they want a faster, higher-intensity ride.

7. More broadly, Greentube has spoken about building franchises by refining rather than replacing what players already recognise. How does Piggy Prizes™ Wish of Riches 2™ reflect that approach?
Wish of Riches 2 is almost a textbook example of it. We kept everything that defines the series intact: the Genie, the locked prizes, the pigs, Magic Spin, Magic Rewind, and then we added a higher tier on top: the Super Genie, Super Free Games, the Buy Bonus and Xtreme Bet. Nothing players loved was removed or rebuilt; it was extended. That’s the philosophy in practice: give returning players more to chase without making them relearn the game, and give new players an experience that’s rich but still easy to pick up.
8. Finally, what do you hope players take away from Piggy Prizes™ Wish of Riches 2™ when they experience the game for the first time?
I want them to feel that it’s unmistakably Piggy Prizes and at the same time a genuine step up. If a returning player sits down and feels at home within a few spins but then discovers the Super Genie and Super Free Games give them a whole new tier to aim for, we’ve done our job. And for someone new to the series, I’d want them to walk away understanding instantly why people keep coming back to these games, the clarity of the mechanics, the visible prizes, and those satisfying moments when the Genie turns a spin around.
