About Nigel Hall

I’ve worked in the gambling industry since 1998, and I am currently a game writer and co-owner of CasinoTrackpot. My work combines the researching and playing of online casino games along with developing ideas for trackers that give players and users of CasinoTrackpot more information about the games they follow.

Before moving into the online sector of iGaming, I worked in the amusement and gaming machine industry, eventually managing two very busy arcade venues at Golden Sands Holiday Park in Mablethorpe, which had more than 600 machines between them. That role involved everything from machine placement and day-to-day operations to testing new products and monitoring their overall performance. During my time in that position, I also completed an NVQ Level 3 management qualification through my employer.

I started my first online gambling website in 2018, and later this got developed into Demoslot. Building this site brought together my experience and passion with gaming machines and an interest in explaining game mechanics, RTP and features in detail. Eventually I sold Demoslot in 2026 but continue to contribute to its content and overall development.

Alex and I brought our combined experience together at CasinoTrackpot because we wanted to build something that was centred on game data and useful tools for players. For me, the appeal is being able to combine a detailed and informative explanation of a game backed up with statistics that readers can explore for themselves.

I currently divide my time between England and Thailand, although I now tend to spend most of my time in Asia, where my daughter lives. Away from work, I’m always a regular at the gym and enjoying keeping fit and have recently started training in Muay Thai.

What I Cover

My main areas of expertise at CasinoTrackpot are live casino games and RTP. I am responsible for writing game content and researching how the betting options and gameplay features work, and I help explain the statistics displayed by our trackers and what they mean.

I also come up with ideas for the website, the new trackers that we develop and the ways we present game data. Much of that starts with a practical question from my side. What would someone following this game want to know, and how could we make that information easier to find and understand?

Alongside my editorial work, I help develop relationships with both game providers and casino operators.

How I Research Games

I always begin by reading the material and literature made available from the game provider, including the rules, any paytable information, feature descriptions and any published RTPs. This gives me the foundation and backstory for understanding the game before I start writing about it.

I then spend substantial time playing the game with real money to get a practical feel for how it works in the real world. I look at all of the betting options, the speed of the gameplay, how bonuses unfold and whether any features are as straightforward to understand in practice as they appear to be in the rules.

Selected Work

Megaways UK City Rankings – Demoslot: A research piece comparing interest in Megaways across UK cities using search data adjusted for population. This was subsequently covered by NEXT.io.

Does Slot RTP Matter? – Demoslot: An article I wrote examining RTP across UK online casinos and its relevance to players. MrQ subsequently referenced this on its official website.
