Mega Wheel Matches
Mega Wheel is Pragmatic Play’s flagship live casino game show, and it was launched in November 2020. It was the software provider’s first entry into the hugely popular game show genre, showing competitor studios Evolution and Playtech that a new player is on the block and ready to play.
The game is broadcast live from Pragmatic Play’s state-of-the-art studio in Bucharest, Romania, a dedicated facility equipped with the latest in live streaming technology. The studio itself is perfectly designed to mirror the aesthetics of whatever game Pragmatic Play is running, and in Mega Wheel, you’ll see a giant multi-coloured wheel with 54 segments. Each segment is marked with one of the following numbers: 1, 2, 5, 8, 10, 15, 20, 30, or 40.
A live host is responsible for spinning the wheel, and they also work hard to keep the audience engaged, much like if you were watching a TV game show! It’s a superb-looking game with fantastic production values, and you can expect multiple camera angles, dynamic lighting, and high-definition streaming across both desktop and mobile devices.
Mega Wheel has some pretty cool mechanics, too, like the Mega Lucky Number multiplier (more details on that shortly), and in this Mega Wheel review, we’re going to go through everything you need to know about the game, how to play, and which strategies to follow while playing yourself!
Gameplay & Features
Mega Wheel’s gameplay is very straightforward. The wheel is divided into 54 segments across nine numbers: 1, 2, 5, 8, 10, 15, 20, 30, and 40. Each number appears a different number of times (for example, 1 appears 20 times while 40 appears only once), and it’s this frequency that helps set the base payout odds.
When you begin to play, you can lay (virtual) chips on as many or as few numbers as you want. You can also use Pragmatic Play’s handy “Bet on All” button, which automatically covers every betting spot with one chip. Once the betting round has closed, a random number generator selects the round’s Mega Lucky Number and applies a multiplier value to it.
Other user-friendly features include Autoplay (which lets you replay spins with the same betting layout), advanced bet validation (which warns if you over-bet), a visible bet history, and live chat for player-host interaction.
Mega Wheel operates around the clock, too, so you can enjoy the action 24 hours a day, seven days a week! Thanks to Pragmatic Play’s cutting-edge infrastructure, they have a dedicated team of on-site technicians who can quickly resolve any mechanical issues that may arise from time to time.

Studio, Interface and User Experience
One of the things at CasinoTrackpot we’ve become quite impressed by with Pragmatic Play’s live dealer casino offering is the quality of their products. The Mega Wheel studio is bright and high-tech, and it combines the look of a TV game show with a casino environment. You’ll see a live presenter walking around, often wearing quite flashy-looking outfits, and he or she is responsible for spinning the giant multicoloured wheel, all under the gaze of players from behind their screens!
The on-screen interface overlays the wheel video with easy-to-read betting buttons for each number, a countdown timer, and displays for recent bets and wins. You can also switch between Classic and Enhanced views on desktop. On mobile, the layout is compact but retains all key info (bet grid, wheel, and recent results).
In our experience, the UI is clean and intuitive, and all video streaming is done in full HD, so the video is sharp and colourful, even if you’re playing on a slightly older device or a smaller mobile one.
How to Play Mega Wheel
Playing Mega Wheel is very simple, and Pragmatic Play has made the game easy to use and understand. Each game round contains just a few steps, and there are no bonus rounds or mini-games, so more rounds can be played every hour, too.
Here’s a look at what to expect when playing Mega Wheel yourself:
1. Place Your Bets:
When a new round starts, the betting window opens. You’re then given around 12 seconds to place your bets. Begin by choosing one or more numbers to bet on, and do this by tapping the corresponding spots on the betting interface. You can bet on any combination of numbers or use the “Bet on All” button to cover every number at once with equal stakes.
2. Lucky Number & Spin:
Lucky Number & Spin. When the betting time ends, the game’s random number generator picks one of the nine numbers as the “Mega Lucky Number” and assigns it a multiplier, which, as we’ll discuss, can range between 1x and 500x. Once the multiplier number has been set, the live host gives the physical wheel a big spin.
3. Winning Segment:
The wheel eventually stops on a numbered segment. The host calls out the winning number, and if that number was also the Mega Lucky Number, the host then announces the multiplier (for example, “Mega Lucky Number 15x, with a 500x multiplier!”).
4. Payouts:
Any player who bet on the winning number collects a payout: you receive your original bet back, plus winnings equal to (base payout × multiplier). Let’s take a quick example. If you had placed a ₱10 bet on 20, you’d usually be paid ₱200 if that number won without a multiplier. If, however, it had a 200x multiplier on it, you’d be paid at 200:1 rather than 20:1, paying you a total of ₱2000!
Once all payouts have been calculated (automatically), the game screen clears, and the next round begins.
Mega Multipliers
Random multipliers are pretty much the whole point of Mega Wheel. Before each spin, one number is selected at random and given a multiplier, which has the potential to massively increase payouts, but only if that number lands. The multipliers can range between 1x and 500x, but not all numbers can land the highest multipliers.
Now, multipliers also land more frequently on the game’s common numbers, 1 and 2; the maximum multipliers for these numbers are 100x and 200x, respectively. The mid-range numbers, 5, 8, and 10, can receive up to a 250x multiplier, and the so-called rare numbers, 15, 20, 30, and 40, can be awarded the full 500x multiplier.
While there’s obviously some pretty clever mathematics going on behind the scenes here, we also like the way Pragmatic Play has designed the game. It’s a good balance, meaning common numbers win often but with smaller multipliers, and the rarer numbers, while paying little in terms of their base payout, are far more likely to hold big multipliers when they do hit one.
Payouts, Probabilities, and RTP
The table below shows each bet choice, how many segments it occupies on the wheel, and its base payout and win probability. The base payout is the number itself (e.g. 5:1 for betting on 5). The probability is the chance that the wheel lands on that number in any spin.
Note: this excludes multipliers
If you’re curious, Mega Wheel’s overall theoretical RTP is about 96.51%, taking into account the random multipliers. Without them, and by looking at the table below alone, you’d be forgiven for thinking the game offers some of the lowest RTPs in world history!
| Number | Segments | Probability | Base Payout | RTP |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 20 | 37.04% | 1:1 | 74.07% |
| 2 | 12 | 24.07% | 2:1 | 72.22% |
| 5 | 7 | 12.96% | 5:1 | 77.78% |
| 8 | 4 | 7.41% | 8:1 | 66.67% |
| 10 | 4 | 7.41% | 10:1 | 81.48% |
| 15 | 2 | 3.70% | 15:1 | 59.26% |
| 20 | 2 | 3.70% | 20:1 | 77.38% |
| 30 | 1 | 1.85% | 30:1 | 57.41% |
| 40 | 1 | 1.85% | 40:1 | 75.93% |
There are some interesting observations in the table above. Smaller, less frequent numbers, with 10 being a great example, actually offer higher return percentages, with even higher numbers offering lower returns.
This is because the game’s house edge comes primarily from the fact that these RTPs are well under 100% and from the cost of funding the big multipliers. In practice, Mega Wheel’s volatility is extremely high: it pays out around 96.5% over time, but many individual spins pay out less (or nothing) to make way for the occasional massive multiplier win!
Streaming Quality
As we’ve come to expect from similar Pragmatic titles, like Sweet Bonanza Candyland, Mega Wheel is presented in full, crisp HD, and the video and audio feeds are superb, with almost no lag or delays. The live feed is broadcast in high definition (at least 720p, often 1080p), so you can easily see the wheel, numbers, and studio surroundings, too.
You’ll enjoy multiple camera angles, including close-ups of the wheel and wide shots of the studio, and all of this helps you to feel like you’re really stepping foot inside the studio!
On a strong internet connection, the video is smooth and flicker-free even when viewing from a mobile device, and the host’s voice is always loud and clear, with sound effects (like the wheel spinning or celebration noises) well-balanced without being too overbearing.
The game is also fully mobile optimised, and this means that when you load it from a mobile device, you’re presented with a slightly different set of betting options. Everything is still there, but to make it easier for you (and your screen!) Some betting options may be hidden behind slide-out menus, and this keeps everything smooth and together.
Mega Wheel Strategy
Mega Wheel is a lively and unpredictable live casino game, and many players want to know about the best Mega Wheel strategies. Below, we’ll walk you through a few strategies to consider when you’re playing the game.
Cover Every Number – The Risk Taker’s Approach
If you’re the type who wants to catch any possible outcome, then betting on all numbers is the way to go. This type of approach means you’re guaranteed a win every spin, but your main goal will still be to land one of the larger multipliers. In fact, if you don’t manage to do so, then you will be losing money (albeit a small amount) every spin!
Now, in our opinion, the cover every number strategy is best used early on. If you don’t hit multipliers quickly and snag a few lucky wins, your bankroll can start to decrease very fast, so you should think of this strategy as a kind of “go in hard and fast, but pull back if results aren’t seen soon.”
Focus on Low-Risk Numbers – The Steady Eddie
The second strategy to consider – Focus on Low-Risk Numbers – is designed for those who still want to be able to enjoy the thrills of high-risk gambling – but, incidentally, with less risk! How does it work?
Well, rather than spreading your chips across the entire board, focus on numbers with the highest hit rates, usually numbers 1, 2, and 5. These numbers end up landing a lot more often, and this results in more frequent (albeit smaller) wins.
The main goal here is to keep your bankroll semi-afloat thanks to the small regular wins, but you’re still giving yourself enough exposure to the higher numbers (and multipliers), which is where you’ll be hoping to catch the big wins.
Targeted Picks with High Reward – The Sharpshooter
This strategy revolves around placing large bets on a single or small group of numbers, basically gambling that their potential multipliers will end up being pretty big.
Now, if you were to use this strategy, you might, for example, cover numbers two and five, and, in doing so, you’d strike a decent balance between probability (them landing frequently) and win potential, as both can offer decent multiplier potential.
Use Historical Data – The Stat Head
Mega Wheel’s interface provides a record of past results, and some players like to look at these numbers and use them to decide which bets to place on future rounds. Of course, while the game is random by design, you might notice “hot” numbers or multiplier streaks.
Some players use this info to adjust their bets, whether that’s the actual size of their stake or maybe even decreasing (or avoiding completely) a number that’s been cold.
It’s far from being a foolproof strategy, and mathematically, it doesn’t have any weight, but it’s a popular one, as it allows you to at least feel as though you’re involved with the game and its outcomes.
The Balanced Spread – The All-Rounder
The final strategy we’ll look at today is the balanced spread, which is kind of like an all-rounder one. Now, with this strategy, you simply need to divide your stake across a mixture of low, mid, and high numbers. And, while you’re not covering every betting option, you are giving yourself the chance to hit multiple numbers within each section.
One example of this working in practice would be to bet multiple units on number one, which would offer you frequent wins. Then, you place a moderate-sized bet on two or five, which is designed to catch those mid-level multipliers.
Finally, you would place a smaller bet on one or two of the higher numbers, like ten and twenty. It’s these higher numbers where the bigger payout potential lies… And that’s why we like this strategy so much. It keeps the excitement alive while also helping you manage your risk level.
Plus, thanks to the fact that you’re always in with a chance of hitting both regular-sized wins and monster wins, we think it’s a pretty good middle ground.

Mega Wheel Statistic Tracking
Pragmatic Play does provide some basic stat-tracking tools right in the game’s interface. From directly inside the game, you can view information about how often multipliers hit and, when they do, whether they’re generally small or large.
There also exist a number of third-party tracking tools, like the ones you’ll see right here on this website. These tools monitor the games 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to offer statistics beyond what Pragmatic Play offers.
Why Do Players Check Previous Game Results?
This varies, and it’s entirely dependent on the type of player in question. In our opinion, the best use of stats trackers, in any live casino game, is to look at how the random number generator works and how often it’s capable of paying big prizes. So, in Mega Wheel’s case, for example, you’d want to know how often multipliers hit, and, when they do, how often the BIG ones hit.
Of course, a lot of the time, this is players’ curiosity-seeking more than anything else. Anyone with a very basic understanding of how casino games work understands that knowing past results doesn’t change anything, but it is interesting and can help you to form your own strategy for placing bets at the table.
So… Are There Any Benefits To Using Stats Trackers?
Whether there are benefits to using stats trackers depends primarily on what you actually want to be able to get out of them. If, for example, you’re just curious about taking a look at what’s been going on and want to view some historical statistics to see how the most recent games have played out, then yes, they can be useful.
As humans, we’re always looking for patterns, and being able to see information like the recent game results is interesting at the very least. Using a stats tracker will also allow you to view the last time the 500x multiplier landed, for example. You may then see that it’s been a long time since the 500x landed and decide to increase your bet sizing slightly in the hopes that it will come in soon.
Although, as we know, this is not guaranteed and just plays back into the gambler’s fallacy. This is because previous results don’t actually affect anything. Even if the roulette wheel landed red for the past 1000 spins, the likelihood of it landing red on the next spin is exactly the same at the beginning of the round. It’s an independent event, so it doesn’t matter what’s happened in the past.
If you understand this and realise that past outcomes have zero bearing on future ones, then yes, a Mega Wheel stats tracker can be interesting to check out. It may even enable you to better place bets, giving you a loose betting guide to follow. Again, nothing is guaranteed, and you would still only be betting on patterns, nothing more.
What Do Mega Wheel Trackers Tell You?
Special tracker tools can break down the math and recent results, and most of them track metrics like:
- The winning number frequency – how many times each number has hit over selected time frames.
- Multiplier occurrences – how often each multiplier has appeared on each number.
- Spin history log – a running list of the most recent spin outcomes, showing you the winning number, segment colour, and, where applicable, the multiplier it hit.

Conclusion & Verdict
Mega Wheel is a pretty bright, fast, and unpredictable live casino game, and we think it’s actually a pretty good one. Sure, there are players who criticise Pragmatic Play for just “copying” Evolution and Playtech, but personally, we don’t really buy into that train of thought. The iGaming market is incredibly competitive as it is, and Pragmatic Play needs to be able to keep up with its competitors.
Their own customers, the players, wouldn’t be happy if they didn’t end up expanding their game catalogue. So, personally, we see this as a moot point. It’s also worth noting that unless a special trademark or patent has been awarded, other suppliers don’t have a monopoly to run games. So in our opinion, it’s fair game.
Sure, it’s a money-wheel game, but with a twist. It’s a very simple game to understand and begin playing, but that also means there’s less depth of strategy involved. The trade-off, really, is the fact that you do have the potential to hit some really big prizes. One single lucky hit on a rare number, for example, can provide wins worth thousands of times your bet, and this makes Mega Wheel perfect for players who enjoy game-show-style entertainment and don’t mind the high risk involved.
So, if you like the idea of betting on a big wheel game like Dream Catcher or Monopoly Live but prefer a slightly simpler format, we think this game will appeal to you. The production value is superb, and the hosts do their best to keep the energy up, even when there aren’t many players winning!
Mega Wheel is a great game overall, and if you haven’t tried it for yourself yet, we’d suggest having a few spins to see whether it’s the type of game you’d like to play or not!
