Funky Time is a live casino game from Evolution that was released in May 2023. Bar Bonus
The first mini-game is the Bar Bonus, and it’s set in a disco club’s bar! In this mini-game, you’ll see a robot bartender and three martini glasses, and once it begins, the host interacts with all the players who covered the Bar Bonus betting segment. He or she will instruct you to pick one of the three glasses on your screen, and once you’ve made your selection, the bartender pours a random multiplier into each of the three glasses.
A slot machine then spins, and it lands another multiplier, which is then randomly assigned to one of the three glasses, multiplying that glass’s current multiplier by that amount. The bonus ends when the chosen glass is “full”, and the value in your glass (now a product of two multipliers) becomes your total bonus multiplier win!
The Bar Bonus is the easiest feature to trigger in Funky Time, as it appears on the wheel six times. It also boasts an RTP of 95.98%, which is good considering it’s a bonus bet.
Stayin’ Alive Bonus
Next up is the Stayin’ Alive Bonus, a game of chance with a bingo-style draw. Once the feature round begins, you’ll be tasked with picking a team colour: green, pink, or orange. All players are now given four “lives”, and a large machine, containing 90 balls, begins to spin.
Balls are then drawn one by one, and each coloured ball advances players up one of their respective three ladders, containing a 20-level multiplier, which starts at 5x and caps out at a massive 10,000x! There are two types of coloured balls for your team colour: a 1-step ball (advances you by one position) and a 2-step ball (which advances you two positions).
Whenever a ball of your chosen colour appears, you climb that many levels. A special STOP ball, which is black, ends your current life without moving you up, and each time one of these black balls is drawn, you lose one life. The round continues until four stop balls have been drawn, and you lose all four lives. The ladder rung you managed to achieve is then the prize you win, simple!
Now, if the wheel spin that triggered this bonus had an additional multiplier on it, every level’s multipliers are multiplied by that amount first, and it’s here that you begin to see how much win potential the game offers, despite looking relatively basic to begin with.
Disco Bonus
The third mini-game in Funky Time Live is the Disco bonus round. When this lands, you’ll see Mr. Funky, the lead character, busting out dance moves across a 37‑square virtual dance floor to collect multipliers! There is a small circular mini‑wheel of eight segments with arrows for direction, and the host spins this mini‑wheel to decide Mr. Funky’s next move, which can be up, down, left, or right.
Whenever Mr. Funky starts moving and then lands on a square, you collect the value shown: these are “regular multipliers” that add together. So, for example, collecting 2x then 10x would be worth a 12x multiplier in total. You will also notice that some squares are marked as “floor multipliers”: landing on those doubles the multipliers in five other random squares on the floor, effectively giving bonus multipliers.
The bonus game ends as soon as Mr. Funky falls off the edge of the floor. When that happens, the sum of all collected multipliers is your total win. Of course, any multiplier from the main wheel spin is applied to each collected value at the start.
Note: The Disco floor has smaller multipliers, capped at 100x, but Mr. Funky usually collects several. Naturally, since the Disco bonus occupies 3/64 of the wheel, it doesn’t land that often, but it usually pays fairly well when it does.
VIP Disco Bonus
The VIP Disco bonus game is the fourth and final feature, and it’s similar to Disco, but better! Once triggered, you’ll be taken to another dance floor, this time with 63 squares, almost double the size of the one in Disco! Again, Mr. Funky appears, repeating the same routine from Disco, but in VIP Disco, he dances for longer periods of time, moving in four directions before having the potential to fall off. The same mini‑wheel directions and rules apply.
Now, since the floor is bigger, the cumulative floor multipliers can grow really big here, and it’s not uncommon to see multipliers reaching upwards of 500x. Of course, there’s just one VIP Disco segment on the wheel, so it lands a lot less frequently, but it’s pretty unusual to trigger this feature and not hit a semi-decent win, at least.

Funky Time’s overall RTP is 95.99%, which isn’t terrible for a live dealer casino in a game show format. Of course, this is the theoretical long-term default payout percentage, combining all bets, but it’s a good starting point.
